Yasukazu Nakamura - was received the Ph.D in genetics from SOKENDAI (Graduate University for Advanced Studies) Japan. From the year 1996 to 2008, he had worked for Kazusa DNA Research Institute. He was involved in several genome projects such as Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 which was the first fully sequenced photoautotroph, and Arabidopsis thaliana which was the first ever sequenced higher plant, as the chief research scientist for bioinformaitcs. From the year 2009, he has been a professor of National Institute of Genetics and SOKENDAI, and has worked for DNA Data Bank of Japan (DDBJ), which is a partner of INSDC with GenBank in NCBI and European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) in EMBL-EBI. From the year 2017, he is the head of division of database curation and public relationship in DDBJ center. His research interest includes genome science for plants and microbes, and biological databases.
