Tzong-Yi LEE
Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Yuan Ze University, Taiwan

Dr. Tzong-Yi Lee received his B.E. and M.E. in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Central University (NCU), Taiwan. In July 2008, he obtained the Ph.D. in the Institute of Bioinformatics, National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan. Currently Dr. Lee is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Graduate Program in Biomedical Informatics, Yuan Ze University, Taiwan. Dr. Lee’s laboratory investigated into genomics, metagenomics, proteomics, glycomics, and network biology, including gene promoters and transcriptional regulation, microbiota and functional analyses, protein post-translational modifications (PTMs), protein kinases and signaling pathway, glycol-peptide sequencing and glycol-structure identification, identifying novel biomarkers for diagnosis, and identifying anti-microbial peptides and drug-resistance microbes. One of his major contributions is to establish a series of PTM databases, prediction tools and integrated analysis platforms. For example, dbPTM, which is a comprehensive PTM online resource, provided extensive experimental supports for all PTMs as well as their structural and biological functions. Up to now, Dr. Lee has published over 65 papers in SCI journals including Nucleic Acids Research, Bioinformatics, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Journal of Proteome Research, BMC Genomics, and PLoS ONE. Additionally, his research achievements also award him with Yuan Ze University Young Scholar Research Award (in July 2011), Yuan Ze University Outstanding Research Award (in 2012 and 2015) and more recently the Y. Z. Hsu Outstanding Professor Award (in 2016).
