Hsien-Da HUANG
Distinguished Professor, Department of Biological Science and Technology, Institute of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, Chiao Tung University, HsinChu, Taiwan

Hsien-Da Huang is a professor of the College of Biological Science and Technology, Chiao Tung University, Taiwan; he is appointed the Vice Dean. He obtained his Bachelor and PhD degrees at Central University, Taiwan. Dr. Huang’s laboratory investigates transcriptomics, epigenetics, and metagenomics, which includes microRNAs and small RNAs regulations, protein post-translational modifications, integrative analysis for microarray and next-generation sequencing data in conducting many biological applications and biomedical studies, clinical bioinformatics, and identifying novel biomarkers for diagnosis. One of the major contribution of his research is to establish a series of miRNA databases, computational tools and integrated analysis platforms. For example, miRTarBase, which is the world-class miRNA-Target interaction (MTI) database, provides extensive experimental supports in all miRNA-related research. His publications have been over 120 papers in journals (including Science, Molecular Cell, Circulation, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, PLoS Biology, Hepatology, Cancer Research, and Nucleic Acids Research).
